15 most inspiring looks this season

This season brought some of the best looks i've seen for a while. Here are what i think are the best and most inspiring looks this season from 2010 ready-to-wear.

1. Balmain

Christophe Decarnin in my mind, is a genius. Season after season he delivers the most deliciously edgy looks that is just my style.

2. Rodarte

Definitely edgy and thinking outside of the box. This look reminds me of a punk swamp monster, love it.

3, 4, and 5. Valentino

I couldn't decide on just one, or even 2 looks from valentino this season. Simply because Valentino knocked it out of the park this season with flirty yet edgy clothing. As my idol Rachel Zoe would say "I dieeee."

6. Versace

This season, Versace was all about pastels, geometric prints, and metal. I think this look symbolizes all three. It may seem like an odd combination, but it was an AMAZING turn out.

7. Badgley Mischka

Just plain elegant, a very springy look. I love the color and shine!

8. Richard Chai

Very simple and springy. Definitely something i'd wear to school.

9. 3.1 Phillip Lim

LOVE. Flashy yet chic - something you can add to any LBD to spice it up.

10. Oscar De La Renta

To me this look is very funeral meets wedding dress. Two words; dark elegance.

11. Ruffian

The contrast between the very colorful jacket and little black dress is genius.

12. Naeem Khan

I love the texture in this look, and the way the colors clash.

13. Monique Lhullier

I'm a sucker for shiny, flashy, nude dresses.

14. Vena Cava

Very casual. Again, definitely something that i'd wear to school.

15. Marchesa

One of my favorite looks this season. Very promiscuous yet classy. A great 'best dressed' look for the red carpet.

Winters just around the corner

or, if you live in the arctic like i do - it has already come. Yes that's right, to those of you who don't know how bizarre Minnesota's weather is, let me inform you. If i sent you a picture of what it looked like around here yesterday - you would not know what season it was. We had green grass and leafs, fall leafs on the ground, and SNOW. It was quite bizarre.

Getting back on topic, being fashionable and warm at the same time is quite a hard task to do - especially in the midwest. So here are some ideas on winter must haves.

1) The Coat

This jacket makes a statement and keeps you warm, i really think this could go with just about anything.

But if you're looking to not splurge,
custard double faced scallop coat by Tulle
This custard colored jacket is only $112.99 from shopruche.com. It's the perfect coat for the sophisticated look, and the casual look.

2) The Scarf

When it comes to the scarf - splurging isn't really necessary in order to find the most fashionable one out there. Instead what i want is quality.

I think for winter it's a good choice to have the option of having at least one really nice warm scarf, and at least one fashionable one. ( Of course if you're looking in my closet i have the option of at least 7 different scarves )

The simple scarf - not something you need to splurge on. Something in a neutral color, and when getting a simple scarf, the only thought that should go into the process should how comfortable it is.

Stylist Scarf
Adding this scarf to any outfit definitely spices it up! Only $18 from francescascollections.com

3) The hat
This winter is loving on the idea of the beanie. Especially colored ones.

Check this one out from Urban Outfitters. Only $19.99 this 'concord' colored beanie can effortlessly add excitement to the nauseatingly boring colors of winter.

4) and lastly - of course - the boot

No one can survive winter without a pair of boots to pair with any outfit.

My suggestion would be to go with a lighter gray boot, like these boots from forever 21. They are an absolute steal at the price of $34.80.

Also, the mini boot. These shoes are my absolute favorite - and near the top of my wishlist.

Zigi Soho Zipora Platform Bootie

only $69.95 from DSW.

On the other hand, is anyone else as excited for WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE as i am?!
That was my favorite book as a kid, so seeing it made modern + fantastic music = my dream.
If you're as big of a fan as i am - you can get a bunch of different artwork, clothing, or dolls from Urban Outfitters. Check it outtt..
